Introduction

Shoeprint is one of the most important and common forms of footprint. Footprints are the traces left on the surface of ground by the treading contacts when people walk, run, climb and jump. They can be divided into bare feet, socks and shoes prints. The research on the analysis and identification of footprint for biological characteristics in China started as early as the 19th century, which has been in the leading position in the world. However, there are still many challenges in footprint research and many potentials to be realized. In particular, the accuracy for footprint-related analysis is often not good enough with big variations, and expert identification is needed. To address these issues, we collected the first large-scale annotated dataset of shoeprints for biological profile estimation, forensic investigation, and sport and health studies based on shoeprints. We hope this dataset can benefit the research community in related studies.

ShoePrints2020 is a dataset of shoeprints by the following licence. It contains 100,000 shoeprints of 50,000 subjects in the ages of 7-80 years old.

Description of ShoePrints2020

The data in ShoePrints2020 were obtained from various cities using the Everspry Outsole Scanner (EverOS™) V2.0. The samples of ShoePrints2020 are shown as Figure 1.

Number of samples

There are 50,000 subjects in the database, and total 100,000 shoeprints while each subject has two shoeprints (left and right shoeprints).

Size

Original:110GB,Shoenet:3.9GB,Demo:98MB

Dataset organization

The dataset is organized according to different age groups, and the name of each folder is age group and number of persons. The name of subfolder in the age group folder is personal ID without duplicates, and the subfolder stores the shoeprints of the same person.

Label information

In the database, each age group folder contains a .TXT file, which records the age information in integrer of all the people in the age group, and the value is 0 in case of any missing information.
